DLSS 5 Swapper and Multi Frame Generation
Understand whether DLSS 5 Swapper adds multi frame generation, identify which component provides it, and separate generated frames from neural rendering.
Does Swapper v2.2.7 include MFG?
The v2.2.7 component list identifies the shipped neural-rendering routes and components. It does not establish a universal, one-click MFG unlock across all RTX cards and games.
The maintainer discussed future MFG integration in issue 78. A closed request is not a release announcement: confirm that a release actually includes the feature before following an MFG setup tutorial.
Separate three different operations
| Term | What it describes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Neural rendering | A neural consumer processes rendering inputs | Extra output frames between rendered frames |
| Frame generation / MFG | A specific system generates additional frames | Better input response or support on every GPU |
| Multipass | Repeated neural processing through a separate consumer | A frame-generation multiplier |
The number in a Pass Count control is therefore not an MFG frame multiplier. See Multipass setup before changing it to chase a higher frame counter.
Check the actual provider of MFG
Before installing additional files, answer these questions:
- Is the feature built into your game, supplied by a driver, or added by an external component?
- Which exact component release describes support for your GPU and game input?
- Does it require a particular rendering API, model, runtime, or existing frame-generation implementation?
- Does its installer use the same proxy DLL or loading point as your current Swapper route?
- Can you restore the game before changing that setup?
The OptiScaler DLSS-NR fork is a distinct component with its own conditions. A video using an external package is not evidence that the same feature is already integrated into Swapper. Avoid combining unrelated downloadable DLL bundles merely because their titles mention “all RTX.”
An RTX 4070 Ti Super still needs an MFG provider that explicitly supports the game and GPU. The Swapper installer alone does not establish that support; check the provider’s installation instructions before combining components.
How to judge a claimed improvement
Keep rendered frame rate and displayed frame rate separate. More displayed frames can make motion look smoother while leaving input response limited by the underlying game frame rate. Observe fast camera movement, HUD elements, ghosting, and stability, as well as the counter.
Use a repeatable scene and record the full component version, GPU, driver, renderer, and settings. Follow the performance procedure to compare results on your own system.
A safe stopping point for an unconfirmed combination
If the provider or prerequisites are unclear, leave the existing working configuration in place. The component map helps identify what is already installed. If you have already mixed routes, close the game and restore its originals before testing a single documented configuration.
